Battery Types

Lead-Acid

  • Lead-acid batteries are available for each machine in a range of sizes to suit application needs.
  • Lead Acid Battery charged overnight in the machine is likely to be a good solution in single shift and lighter 12 hour or 2 shift operations.
  • Highly intensive applications and long/multiple shifts require larger or multiple batteries.
  • To achieve best life, 5 Years plus, good charging and maintenance practices are needed. Operators and maintenance staff may need to be trained.
  • Side battery extraction options available across the range help reduce battery exchange time.

Lithium-Ion

  • Li-Ion batteries are available for each machine in a range of sizes to suit application needs.
  • Highly intensive applications and long/multiple shifts require larger batteries and opportunity charging throughout the shifts.
  • Fast full charge in 1-2 hrs, no battery changing required, maintenance free, higher efficiency and lower energy costs compared to lead-acid.

Fuel-Cell

  • Fuel-Cell batteries are not available but are under development.
  • Run on compressed hydrogen and the only emission at the point-of-use is water.
  • Refuel is as quick as 3 minutes.
