Sequencing Point

One of the key steps in the logistics process at a manufacturing plant is the decoupling point or sequencing point.

The sequencing point is the point where items are placed in the sequence matching exactly the order in which cars are produced. The production schedule is determined and given to the Tier 1 Suppliers so that they can ensure the materials are boxed and shipped in sequence to match the schedule.
